It's really hard to write this post without getting super emotional but it's only right I express my love and respect for Kobe and Gianna.
I've really been moved by the amount of love and support the Bryant family has received. I can't imagine the pain this family is going through but it's so warming to know how much Kobe and Gianna were loved and appreciated.
Their relationship reminds me of the relationship I have with my own father. I remember being Gianna's age and wanting to be just like my Dad...right by his side every step of the way. This tragedy has been really hard on the world but I do have some sort of peace knowing they were able to transition together considering how strong their bond was.
"We are all devastated at the news of the tragic deaths of Laker legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the other seven passengers aboard the helicopter. It’s going to take all of us some time to process the tremendous loss of life that occurred on Sunday. I send my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of all who were killed. We named August 24 ‘Kobe Bryant Day’ in honor of the greatness he achieved not just on the court but off. The pride of our city and a role model to children around the world, the ‘Mamba Mentality’ will live on forever. We’re praying for Kobe’s wife Vanessa, their three other children and all of the families involved."
Seeing so many people talk about how important it is to love our loved ones is beautiful. We go day to day...going through the same cycles, without realizing time isn't always on our side. We can't take our days for granted. Have gratitude and be grateful for whatever life takes you through. Call someone you've been avoiding, make peace with those who have wronged you. Life is so short and we can leave Earth in the blink of an eye. Live each day to the fullest because we honestly will never know when it could be our last.
