In 2018 one of my new year resolutions was to start reading more books. I used to read all of the time and I slowly drifted away the more hectic my life got.
My goal was to read at least one book a month, might not sound like a lot, but working full time and going to school full time...on top of whatever else life brings, it's a challenge. Unfortunately, I got to around May-June when I gradually stopped making time to read.
Sooo, in 2019 I'm going full force baby!
This is my bookshelf that is slowly but surely growing. I've read about half of these books and the other half I've just been slowly adding to. Pretty much all of them are about personal growth, spiritual growth, new beginnings, personal finances, living health, leadership, etc.
One thing that usually helps me focus when reading is purchasing the audio version and listening as I'm reading. I know this seems pricey or a bit extra but trust me just try it once and you'll love it. For example, I bought the audio version with Becoming by Michelle Obama and We're Going to Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union and I ready both books in less than 48 hours.
Why?...Girl, because I couldn't put the book down!
Listening to the author read their own story is wayyy more beneficial and inspiring than listening to my own voice reading it in my head. It was like I was glued to every word they were saying.
Here's a full list of each book and attached to a link where you can find them.
If you want to start reading or if you already love reading, you should definitely check a couple of these books and journals out. Even if reading isn't really your thing, I encourage you to take the time this year to do something that you've always wanted to do. Make time to do the things you love. This is the year you need to start catering to yourself and the things that make you happy. Curling up reading/listening to a book that is helping me develop and/or inspiring happens to be my #happyplace
What is your happy place?

Let me know, I'd love to have a conversation with you!
